WHAT YOU'RE SIGNING UP FOR
The shortest expedition we run, built for travelers with a tight window. Two nights of real wilderness camping, the ruins of Karakorum, and the Orkhon waterfall — all within reach of Ulaanbaatar.
It moves at a relaxed pace, there is always time for a herd of horses crossing the road, and you will be back in the city in time for a Monday flight.

THE ROUTE
- 1
Ulaanbaatar → Elsen Tasarkhai → Karakorum
Sand dunes and camel herds en route, afternoon at Erdene Zuu, camp by the Orkhon river.

Orkhon Valley day
Hike to the waterfall, picnic above the canyon, swim in the plunge pool if the season allows.

Valley → nomad family camp
Morning drive through summer pastures, tea with a herder family, camp in the shadow of Khogno Khan.
- 4
Return to Ulaanbaatar
Monastery ruins on the mountain, then the road home by early afternoon.
